You can imagine how excited I was to capture this photograph. Mr. & Mrs. Bluebird were having an ordinary day, doing what they knew to do. They had no idea someone was admiring every move they made. They had chosen to occupy the bluebird house on our deck. A nest inside their home of choice was in the making. When I took this photograph, Mrs. Bluebird appears to be on her way out to get more building supplies. She looks like she might be giving Mr. Bluebird “a little instruction.” He has faithfully helped her and fiercely guarded the outside while she knit the nest inside. While she was out, he also gathered and delivered building supplies. Together they worked diligently. The beauty of their relationship is the fingerprint of God. He continues to reach out to us through His incredible handiwork. Just as the bluebirds are in a relationship with one another, did you know that God wants to have a personal relationship with us? He takes delight in each of our lives. After all, we are His most prized handiwork. He loves us so much that He designed us in His image. When we focus on our relationship with God first, He shares beautiful life secrets that guide us in our other relationships and life decisions. An ordinary day turns into an extraordinary day when we put our relationship with God at the top of our daily priority list, above all else. Then, the “all else” becomes meaningful. F. B. Meyer, one of my favorite writers, said, “The faithful fulfillment of the commonplaces of daily life is the best preparation for any great demand that may suddenly break in upon our lives.” And we know that God causes everything to work togetherfor the good of those who love God and are calledaccording to his purpose for them.Romans 8:28 by Arlette Revells |
