A mother deer honored us one morning by a visit to our front yard with her twin fawns. Of course, I grabbed my camera and quietly opened the front door just in time to get a shot of the mother affectionally nudging or “kissing” the nose of one of her little ones. How affirming to get a special touch from mom.
My mother was from a large family with thirteen children. Mother and two of her sisters and their families lived in the same city. All three sisters enjoyed looking their best. They had a strong family resemblance and each possessed a healthy sense of humor. They were genuinely in love with life. As a teenager, I overheard their laughter as one said, “You’d better always look good when you go out! Someone might think you’re me!”
Have you ever been mistaken for someone else? I have many times. The encounter ends with, “Well, you have a twin somewhere!”
God never makes that mistake. He knows who we are because He created us. God never compares us to others because we have our own unique set of gifts and talents. He never makes a mistake.
In Jeremiah we read, For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Have you ever asked God this question: Who do you think I am?You’ll be encouraged by His answer.
