It was with great delight that I welcomed the cute little hummingbird to our zinnia garden. I named her Molly. For the first time, this year, I planted my zinnias from seeds. Finally, the buds opened up and produced the most amazing large flowers in every vibrant color of the rainbow. The flowers attracted Molly. She must have thought she had made it to heaven when she found my zinnia garden! She energetically made her rounds, hovering over the flowers, and then as if kissing each one, she gathered her nectar for the day. Did you know that hummingbirds rarely stop moving? Their legs are so weak and small that they seldom try to walk. However, it has been said that in the air they’re masters. Their strengths surpass their weaknesses. Isn’t it a beautiful thought that the God who created the hummingbird and the many colored flowers also created you and me? There is no end to His creativeness in our design. When I think about the different colors of skin on His people creations all over the world, the differences in our gifts, our weaknesses and strengths, it can be mind boggling. But not to God! Not only do we read that we are God’s exquisite masterpieces, but there’s a place for each of us. I have to believe Job 33:4, that the Spirit of God has made me and the breath of the Almighty gives me life. How can I live more comfortably in this life? The more I invest myself in making those around feel they have a place, the more comfortable I will feel. Arlette Revells (Photo Credit: Arlette) |
