There was a black and white puppy who was found helpless and abandoned in the middle of the country road. But the little dog’s life suddenly changed when Greg, who lived in a nearby house, took him in and took time from his busy schedule to feed and care for the hungry pup. Greg named him Tank. Thus, an enduring relationship began. Tank’s new “Dad” had no idea how much love Tank had to offer him! It didn’t take long for Tank to learn that he could trust Greg. He reaches out every time his “Dad” is around. He’s now a year old and loves riding in his place in the golf cart, right beside Dad. After a day of sharing Dad’s office, guess where he sleeps at night? You guessed it, in the room with his new dad and mom. Yep, Mom loves him too! Have you experienced a rescue through life-giving actions and words from someone? I have many times. But one of the most memorable times happened on a day I got up feeling exhausted. As a young wife and mother, my days had begun to control me. That particular day I felt so overcome by the things I needed to do that I spent the whole day in my pajamas. I didn’t even brush my hair, make up the beds, nor wash the piled up dishes. It was all I could do to tend to our two active young children. When my husband arrived home from work, I didn’t give him my usual greeting at the door. I didn’t even go to the door. I looked like a wreck and was standing at the sink, attempting to appear busy. I didn’t expect him to do something so powerful that I felt rescued from the downward spiral of my hopes and dreams. He walked to the sink where I slumped over the dirty dishes, took me in his arms, and said, “How’s my beautiful queen?” Life began to flow back into me as I felt the warmth of his love.
