When I met Chloe, she was in desperate need of a savior, and I believe God brought us together. I wasn’t supposed to be there. My appointment was running late, so I decided to get breakfast. That’s when I saw Chloe lying in the street. She had just been hit by a car, having strayed into a main thoroughfare. As I drove by Chloe, a Scottish Terrier, it was evident she was in pain.
Full of compassion, I knew I had to do something, so I turned around. A young man had already stopped and was taking her back to his car. From her name tag we discovered she was from the neighboring apartments. Although her owner, Mariah, was not home, we reached her by telephone and told her about the accident. I took Chloe to the nearest veterinary clinic and left my name and number with them for Mariah.
It turned out that Chloe was fine. She had no broken bones and no internal injuries. Although the vet suspected nerve damage, Chloe made a complete recovery. What could have been sad, turned out to be a happy ending.
You too can have a “happy ending”, even though you may have strayed into the path of sin or have been overcome by fast-moving traffic on the highway of life. Just know that there is a Savior whose love is so great that we cannot fathom it. Even in our worst moments, God loves us unconditionally, but we often take this love for granted. We all need a Savior who CARES about us by: showing His Compassion toward us; making us spiritually Alive; providing us with the Riches of His grace; Expressing kindness to us; and calling us to Serve others. Ephesians 2:4-10
