Casper the Cockatoo

Posted by Arlette Revells

I know a Cockatoo parrot named Casper. A family household adopted him. Before long, Casper learned to talk. Every time he hears a knock he yells: “Come in”! One day his owner turned to see a stranger standing in the middle of her kitchen, where she was sitting at her computer. Startled, she jumped to her feet. The cable repairman gasped when he realized how alarmed the woman was. “Lady,” the repairman stammered, when I knocked on your front door, I heard someone say, “Come in.’

What doors will you walk through today? And how will people respond to you?

My neighborhood dry cleaner has a sign posted on the wall. It reads “Everyone brings joy to this room. Some by entering and some by leaving.” Gripping thought, isn’t it!

Psalm 19:8 says, His instructions give joy to the heart, make us radiant, and give light to the eyes.

Now, who wouldn’t be happy to see you come in, all decked out with joy, radiance and twinkling eyes?

Dear Jesus, help me to spread Your fragrance everywhere I go.

Flood my soul with Your spirit and life.

Penetrate and possess my whole being so utterly,

That my life may only be a radiance of Yours.

(Mother Teresa)
